Welcome

I am a Counselling Psychologist in The Hague, working with individuals and couples who are navigating a wide range of challenges, from everyday stress and anxiety to more complex emotional and relationship difficulties.

As a Canadian living abroad, I am registered as a Psychologist with the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and offer therapy in English, both online and in person in The Hague, where I am part of the team at Calm Waters Psychology, Counselling & Family Support Services.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, my goal is to support you in reconnecting, reflecting, and moving forward with clarity.

“There is no greater source of joy and meaning in our lives than our relationships with others.”

-Esther Perel

My Approach

I work from an integrative and relational approach to psychotherapy, drawing on person-centred principles and incorporating aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Brainspotting—used in the treatment of trauma and difficult experiences that can feel stuck in the body.

My approach is grounded in interactional therapy and focuses on understanding patterns in relationships, recognizing that our experiences and ways of relating are shaped within relationships—both past and present.

At the core of my work is the belief that people thrive when they are met with empathy, openness, and genuine acceptance. I aim to offer a space where you can reflect, feel understood, and begin to make sense of your experiences in a way that supports meaningful change.

About Me

As an expat and a parent, who has spent the last nine years living in Belgium and now the Netherlands, I understand firsthand the challenges of building relationships, studying, working, and parenting across cultures. While living abroad can feel like an exciting adventure, it can often bring moments of loneliness, anxiety, loss, and a sense of dependency.

In addition to my background in psychology I also have an academic foundation in cultural geography. This gives me a deeper understanding of how place, space, and identity shape who we are and how we relate to the world around us. It's a perspective I bring into my work with expats and intercultural couples.

My path into counselling started during the decade I spent working with youth in government programs, particularly 17 year olds. I saw so many young people prescribed medication for anxiety and depression without ever being offered therapy or a safe space to talk about their experiences. That disconnect really stuck with me.

These experiences continue to inform my work as a therapist, shaping a relational and reflective approach grounded in curiosity, care, and respect.
